Each of Sandwell’s six towns has a focus week during the six-week Safer Sandwell Partnership campaign.
Following a busy week of activities in Rowley Regis last week (w/c 9 September), the focus is now on Tipton (w/c 16 September), with Smethwick to follow next week (w/c 23 September) and then Wednesbury, Oldbury and West Bromwich.
The main Tipton information roadshow will be in Owen Street from 12-3pm this Saturday (21 September) as part of the Tipton Canal & Community Festival.
Check out the Youth Bus, get security advice and freebies from Sandwell Crime Prevention Panel and chat to police, council officers and partner community organisations about a range of issues, from anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse and modern slavery to welfare rights, income management and healthy lifestyles.
Then on Monday (23 September), there will be a Safer 6 information roadshow in Smethwick, from 11am-2pm at Cape Hill Retail Park (outside Asda).
Councillor Maria Crompton, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for safer communities, said: “It’s great to have so many services and organisations working together for the Safer 6 campaign to help people feel safer this autumn and get advice on a whole range of issues. This builds on their day-to-day work throughout the year.”
