Sandwell Council is planning to hold a ‘theatre in the park’ event in June 2020 and is currently carrying out some research to help put together the best possible show.
Alex Howell, arts and projects officer for Sandwell, said: “We’re really lucky that Sandwell has a wealth of unique parks and open spaces that we can use to host performances and, although we’re in the early stages of planning, we’re really excited to hear what the public have to say to help us shape an event that people will enjoy.”
Councillor Bob Lloyd, cabinet member with responsibility for culture, added: “We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to entertain people who choose to come to Sandwell and hosting an open-air event will give our audience the chance to enjoy a performance while also enjoying the outdoor spaces that Sandwell has to offer.”
