Liam Roberts signs contract extension

Walsall Football Club are delighted to confirm goalkeeper Liam Roberts has signed a long term contract extension.

Roberts, who was born in Walsall, has progressed through the youth system and established himself in the first team set up at the Banks’s Stadium.

He made his Walsall debut against Millwall in February 2016 at the Banks’s Stadium and has also enjoyed loan spells at Southport, Gresley and Chester.

The 24-year-old is closing in on his 100th appearance for the club, having played 94 times for the Saddlers so far.

On signing a new contract, Roberts said: “I’m over the moon to sign the new deal.

“With the start to the season I have had, I’d just like to say a massive thanks to the coaching staff and the gaffer for believing in me and now we can keep pushing on and go on the same journey together.

“I want to keep playing games, I want to keep progressing and I want to keep working hard for this football club.”
