Christmas opening times at council

People are being reminded to check when council services are running over the Christmas period.

The council has produced a one-stop checklist of how the festive period affects opening times.

It includes information on housing, bin collections, how to reach services in an emergency and much more.

Emergency frontline services will continue over the festive break.

Household waste and recycling collection dates have been altered between December 21 and January 4. Flyers detailing the changes are being delivered to all borough homes in the lead up to Christmas.

Alan Lunt, deputy chief executive at Dudley Council, said:

Many of our council services will continue to operate over the festive period.
We want to remind residents, particularly those who are elderly and vulnerable that we are still here for them, especially those emergency frontline services that people depend on.
Other services may be affected with alternative or reduced opening hours. We want to encourage people to check before travelling to libraries, leisure centres and other popular activities.
We have produced a list for people check, which includes those all-important emergency contact details.

Services’ opening hours are available to view at: https://www.dudley.gov.uk/xmasopeningtimes and include Dudley Council Plus, household waste recycling centre, housing services, libraries, leisure centres and more.
