Quids in for kids at The Dell Stadium

Kids can play football for as little as a quid after school at The Dell Stadium, Brierley Hill.

Dudley Council leisure bosses have launched a new scheme at the Bryce Road site where youngsters can have a kickabout on the 3G pitch with friends on weekdays from 3pm to 5pm.

The sessions, which are unsupervised, are suitable for boys and girls over the age of eight.

Eight to 15-year-olds play for only £1, while 16-year-olds and above pay £2.

Those taking part must bring a football and wear appropriate footwear. Trainers are not allowed and football boots must be moulded with either screw in plastic, nylon or rubber studs under 15mm.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said:

This is a fantastic chance for youngsters to play football for next to nothing with their friends on a top quality pitch.
We have listened to the local community about providing affordable activities for children and this is just one of the activities we are promoting.
