Success of careers event continues

Sandwell Council’s recent Jobs and Skills event proved popular with more than 250 residents signing up to take part.

The week-long programme hosted six live broadcasts where attendees could interact with advisors to get information and showcased the range of support available to find employment, enter training and included information of interest to residents of all ages and career stages.

Councillor Rajbir Singh, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for skills and employment, said: “Covid-19 isn’t going to stop us providing residents with the jobs and skills support they need to succeed, and this event proved the point.

“The videos and other resources from our week-long Jobs and Skills in Sandwell event are available for free to all residents online. Our hard-working employment advisors will continue to provide advice to residents of all ages, helping them find their next job or new career.”

Deputy Leader of Sandwell Council Maria Crompton added: “I want to thank our teams across the council for continuing to help residents, especially those hit hardest by the economic damage of Covid-19. The council will continue to do all we can to help our residents succeed and improve their lives.”
