Workshop set to help business prepare for Brexit

Residents and businesses can access links, resources and information on the national government’s ‘Get ready for Brexit’ campaign at www.dudley.gov.uk/brexit

The free business workshop will cover a range of topics including employees and workforce, movement of goods, intellectual property, regulatory divergence, European funding and export and import document training.

It will be held at The Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill on Friday October 18, 9am to 12pm. Representatives from the Black Country Chamber and Dudley Council will be in attendance and tea and coffees will be provided.

Businesses from all sectors are invited to attend. Participants are asked to register in advance for the session.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:

We are undertaking Brexit preparations in line with national government guidance. This will give residents the confidence to know that it’s business as usual now and after October 31.

I would ask local businesses to sign up to one of the workshops and would advise them to take a look at the government’s ‘Get ready for Brexit’ webpage.

Other workshops will also be held in locations across the Black Country with neighbouring local authorities.

As we approach October 31, it is crucial that businesses across the Black Country understand what Brexit means for their operations. That’s why we are working closely with our local authority partners across the region to ensure that practical, business-friendly policy advice is being shared.

Over the next month, we will be working with experts across a range of sectors, to help build on the good work we have been doing since the referendum in 2016.

Our events will ensure that businesses can easily access the information they need. That means answering their questions on crucial business policy issues from recruitment and the government’s Settlement Scheme, to Export Documentation and Transport and Logistics.
