Event for young people with special needs

The ‘supporting young people with SEND in making informed decisions about their futures’ event runs from 10am to 2pm at Saltwells Education Centre in Netherton on Friday 20 September, with registration from 9.30am.

Dudley SENDIASS service, which provides impartial support and advice to young people with SEND and their families, is aiming the event at young people aged 14 – 25 and those who support them.

It has been organised to inform and support the young people in making decisions relating to their special educational needs and disabilities and will bring together the wide range of services and agencies available as they make their transition into adulthood.

Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and young people, said:

We are pleased to be running this event again this year and I am sure it will prove popular with young people and their parents and carers.
It is important that young people from across the borough who have SEND are made aware of the support and opportunities available to them as they move towards adulthood.

The event is free but people should reserve a place in advance by calling 01384 817373.
