Mental Fest is happening over the weekend of August 17th & 18th this year (Saturday and Sunday) in Walsall Town Centre based in the West Midlands. We are raising money for Papyrus- a charity for the prevention of young suicide. The event is being held to raise awareness of mental illness in general but especially in younger people.
We ourselves have personal experience in this area and want to reach out and help as many people talk about it as possible. We have already got various bands lined up to play over the weekend , as well as entertainment and a charity raffle to raise as much money as possible for this amazing and important cause.
We have live bands, acoustic artists, face painting artists ,entertainment , a raffle and an auction as well as tattooing for charity over the weekend.
Last year the Mayor or Walsall came to support the event and we were featured on BBC Radio. We are supported by Midlands Metalheads Radio. The event raised over £1500 and we are hoping to raise even more this year!
We are planning on holding this event yearly and want to make it as big as possible.
