A project to improve the health and wellbeing of South Asian women in Wednesbury has been given a £4,800 boost by Sandwell Council.
The council has awarded Breakthru CIC’s Aman Group a town grant to help it to put on sessions for 150 South Asian women aged 40 to 90.
The sessions, which include gentle exercise, singing and dancing, informed sessions and self-improvement help, are held weekly at Wednesbury Library in Walsall Street on Thursday mornings, 10am to 12noon.
For more information, just drop into the library, email info@break-thru.co.uk or call 07813 125443.
Councillor Olwen Jones, Wednesbury town chair, said: “These are important sessions for the Asian community in the town because the activities help prevent isolation and support women’s health and wellbeing.”
