Help for young people getting exam results

Young people in Sandwell who are due to get exam results can get expert advice on what to do next.

Connexions Sandwell will run an exam advice service on weekdays from Thursday 15 August to Friday 31 August 10am – 4pm at Sandwell Council House in Oldbury. There is no need for an appointment as these are drop-in sessions.

Advice will be offered to young people on further education, apprenticeships, college courses, university entry, student finance and jobs. Advisors will be able to help with university clearing and colleges offering further education or training. They also have details of hundreds of local employers who can offer jobs or apprenticeships.

Councillor Danny Millard, cabinet member for skills and employment said: “Getting exam results can be a stressful time and we want to help young people get the best advice so come and see our expert advisors at the council house.

“The team are ready to help young people make informed choices so they can succeed in whichever path they choose to take.”

Over the last four years, Connexions Sandwell has supported an estimated 1,000 students.
