Posts are available in Stourbridge, Wollaston, Wordsley, Halesowen, Kingswinford and Dudley.

Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environmental, highways and street services, said:

Our patrols do a fantastic job helping to keep children safe on the roads, and they quickly become a key part of their local community.
Many of our patrols love the role so much they stay with us for decades.
This is a rewarding job and I hope that anyone who can give their time to this special role will consider applying.

All posts advertised are permanent and the local authority hopes to have successful candidates in post and on the streets by the end of the year.

Shift times vary on each site, but cover is required during morning and afternoon school runs. Each shift is typically 45 minutes.

Posts are for term time only – 39 weeks a year – and the hourly rate for most candidates is around £9. Successful applicants will need to undergo a DBS check and health screening.
