There’s still time to vote in the Green Flag People’s Choice Awards to help find the nation’s favourite parks, with 12 Sandwell sites in the running.
The deadline to vote is Monday 30 September 2019.
Sandwell has 12 parks and green spaces awarded the prestigious Green Flag by Keep Britain Tidy – and the People’s Choice Awards are a further chance for public recognition.
Sandwell’s 2019 list includes six town parks, a cemetery and crematorium, as well as Sandwell Valley Country Park and community-run Warley Woods.

Councillor Maria Crompton, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for parks, said: “There’s still time to vote in this national competition, so I would urge anyone who hasn’t voted yet to do so before the end of September. This is a great opportunity to celebrate our parks and green spaces and everyone who helps keep them clean, tidy and well-used.
“We really proud to have 12 Green Flag sites in Sandwell and it’s a tribute to all the council staff, volunteers, friends, community groups and our waste partner Serco.”
