A bench made from recycled paint pots has been donated to residents of Islington Flats in Halesowen as part of a national recycling campaign.
Bell Decorating Group, which is delivering works in the communal areas of the flats on Islington Road, worked in conjunction with Dudley Council to have it installed.
Crown paints made the bench as part of its national work with social enterprise charity NIMTECH, which has saved an estimated 800 tonnes of paint cans from going to landfill.
It was officially unveiled by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor David Stanley, alongside Bell Group and Crown Paints representatives last week. Partners C7, DFTRA and Dudley Housing were also involved.
The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor David Stanley, said:
Bell Group will be working with Dudley Council’s tenant participation team to deliver future events at Islington Flats, including environmental initiatives, and there are plans for there to be a Housing Forum Group to be created there in the near future.
