The Saddlers picked up their second win in four days as they defeated Odra Opole thanks to a single goal from midfielder Jack Kiersey.
Inside the opening minute of the game, Opole could have found themselves ahead when Szymon Skrzypcz connected well with a header at the back post but it ended up on the roof of Jack Rose’s net.
With 13 minutes on the clock, the Saddlers had their first meaningful effort in the game as Wes McDonald went one-on-one with his full-back, only for it to be pulled wide of the mark.
Moments later and James Clarke had another chance to open the scoring. Kiersey sent in a corner to the front post where Clarke met it but his header went just wide of the target.
Just over half an hour played and the Saddlers found themselves ahead. After some lovely work by Hardy, the midfielder found Kiersey who guided the ball into the side-netting from 10 yards out.
Two minutes later and it could have been 2-0. McDonald again cutting inside his man, this time unleashing a drive towards the far corner, but his effort cannoned back off the crossbar and the score stayed at just one.
In the second half, chances were few and far between for both sides but it was once again the Saddlers who pressed hard to double their advantage.
With 15 minutes left, substitute Callum Cockerill-Mollett went close following another Kiersey corner but his effort cannoned back off the post before being cleared to safety.
