Kinsella keen to repay the fans

Walsall midfielder Liam Kinsella admitted the Saddlers supports deserved a better performance than the one put in against Cheltenham Town.

Darrell Clarke’s side fell to a disappointing 3-1 defeat against the high-flying Robins.

Kinsella is keen to put it right against Crawley Town at the Banks’s this Saturday and is desperate to repay the fans for their fantastic support after travelling in their numbers to Salford and Cheltenham.

“The fans have been excellent,” Kinsella said.

“They got behind us when we needed them the most and they deserve better than what we gave them so hopefully we can repay them next week with three points.

“We’ve set the standards and it wasn’t good enough from the lads, we know that. We’ve just got to put it to bed now and put it right next week.”

The 23-year-old still believes the Saddlers can recover and climb up the table again despite losing to a Cheltenham side who he rates highly.

“They’re a very good team, probably one of the best we’ve played this season,” he admitted.

“We’ve played everyone in the league now and there’s been a couple of teams who have been decent but other than that I feel we can creep up the league.

“We need to put it to bed and put in a performance the fans deserve next week.”

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game against Crawley Town.
